Today at an event on Capitol Hill, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is announcing, in conjunction with the agency’s work with the Council for Inclusive Innovation (CI2), a new National Strategy for Inclusive Innovation.

USPTO seeks nominations for Patent and Trademark Public Advisory Committees

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) seeks nominations to fill up to three upcoming vacancies on the Patent Public Advisory Committee (PPAC) and up to three upcoming vacancies on the Trademark Public Advisory Committee (TPAC).

On this day in 1990, Paramount Pictures received a design patent for a Star Trek toy spaceship modeled after the USS Enterprise, crewed by Captain Jean-Luc Picard and others. The franchise has also received design patents for its duty uniforms, tricorder device, Starfleet insignia, phaser, calligraphic font, and more.
