Laureate feature: Frances Arnold

This month, the USPTO homepage features an interview with Dr. Frances Arnold, Nobel and National Medal of Technology and Innovation (NMTI) laureate. She reflects on her 30-year career to make chemistry green, clean, and more efficient, and her proudest accomplishment of mentoring more than 200 young scientists in an emerging field.

Dr. Arnold received the 2011 NMTI for "pioneering research on biofuels and chemicals that could lead to the replacement of pollution-generating materials."

We are now accepting nominations for future NMTI laureates. If you know an extraordinary innovator who has contributed to America's well-being, make sure to submit a nomination by the April 5 deadline.
