Windows 10 Docking Station Reboot Procedure

If you are experiencing an issue with connectivity related to your docking station or peripherals connected through the docking station, please perform the following steps to resolve your issue.

Step 1: Unplug the three docking station cables (identified in the image to the right)

Step 2: Plug the A/C prong cable (cable # 1) into a wall outlet or active power strip.

Step 3: Verify that the power brick and brick LED (located on the adaptor) is illuminated green.

If the power brick LED is not illuminated, ensure that the cable is securely attached to the power brick. Or, try a different wall outlet or power strip.

NOTE: The LED located on the power brick will appear dim at certain angles.

Step 4: Verify that the outlet that the power brick is connected to is functional (you can connect another device to the outlet to confirm).

Step 5: Plug the power cable (cable #2) into the back of the docking station.

Step 6: Verify that the LED located on the front of the docking station is illuminated white.

Step 7: If the docking station is not illuminated:

 A. Ensure that the cable is securely attached to the DC Power Input port located on the back of the docking station.

 B. Plug the USB-C Cable (cable #3) into the USB-C port located on the upper left-hand side of the laptop.
The LED located on the head of the cable will illuminate once it is connected

Step 8: If USB-C cable LED is not illuminated while plugged into the laptop:

1. Unplug/plug-in the cable and ensure that it is securely attached.

2. Close the laptop’s lid to activate any monitors or displays connected to the docking station.

3. Once the USB-C cable is connected to the powered-off laptop, the laptop will automatically boot up.

NOTE 1: DO NOT Press any laptop or docking station power station button after the USB-C cable is connected. This may interrupt the boot up process.

NOTE 2: Be patient. Allow 20-30 seconds for the Dell logo to appear.

If the laptop lid is closed, you can confirm that the unit is powering up if the laptop keyboard is illuminated.

NOTE 3: If the laptop is powered-off (lid is closed) and the docking station is already connected, press and hold the docking station power button for 2-3 seconds to power-on the laptop.
