| 1. An apparatus for treating and applying finishing agents onto a nonwoven web, the apparatus comprising:
at least one device for pre-bonding the nonwoven web,
at least one convexly arcuate guide surface,
means for guiding the pre-bonded nonwoven web in an arcuate path in a travel direction over and in contact with the surface,
the guide surface being formed along the path with an array of outlet openings and formed at a downstream end of the path
with a sharp breakaway edge directed downstream in the travel direction, and
means for supplying a finishing agent to the openings for applying the finishing agent onto the nonwoven web guided over the
guide surface.
