| 9. A parking brake system comprising:
a fluid pressure source to activate disc brakes in response to a pedal operation, a fluid pressure control mechanism for controlling
the fluid pressure source to selectively generate a parking control fluid pressure or a parking release control fluid pressure;
at least one casing operatively attached to the fluid pressure source and at least one brake caliper, the at least one casing
having a parking piston slidably fitted therein at a first position;
a lock mechanism within the at least one casing situated at a first side of the parking piston wherein the lock mechanism
automatically locks in response to movement of the parking piston toward a second side to mechanically lock the parking piston
at a second position and unlocks;
the lock mechanism further comprising a hydraulically actuatable lock piston arranged orthogonal to the first side of the
parking piston and operable to urge the parking piston from the first position toward the second position, the locking piston
being slidably fitted in the casing.
