An ionic liquid, represented by the formula K+A−, comprising a cation, K+, that is 1 -ethyl-3-methyl imidazolium and an anion, A−, that is a halogenated sulfonyl imide anion represented by [XSO2]2N, X representing halogen, wherein the content of an alkali metal as an impurity in the ionic liquid is 5 ppm or less and the content of a halogen ion is 1 ppm or less. |
