1. An optical switch comprising:
a collimator having a multiple number of ports;
a light reflecting element for reflecting an optical beam output from a first one of the ports; and
an angle tuning element for deflecting the optical beam output from the first one of the ports and reflected by the light reflecting element into a second one of the ports, the angle tuning element having a first front face, a second front face and substantially flat back face, wherein the first front face and the second front face are at an angle relative to the substantially flat back face and wherein the angle tuning element is positioned such that each front face is directed toward the collimator,
wherein the angle tuning element is movable linearly between a first position and a second position such that in the first position, the angle tuning element deflects the optical beam into a first path and in the second position, the angle tuning element deflects the optical beam into a second path, and
wherein the optical beam output from the first one of the ports bypasses the angle tuning element before being reflected by the light reflecting element.
