Claims 10, 16-18 and 21-23 are cancelled.
Claims 1, 2, 9, 11-13, 15, 19 and 20 are determined to be patentable as amended.
Claims 3-8 and 14, dependent on an amended claim, are determined to be patentable.
New claims 24-32 are added and determined to be patentable.
1. A welding, cutting or heating power source capable of receiving a range of input voltages, comprising:
an input rectifier configured to receive an ac input and to provide a first dc signal at a rectified magnitude;
a converter configured to receive the first dc signal and to provide a converter output and providing a dc bus at a desired magnitude, wherein the desired magnitude is greater than the rectified magnitude of a greatest input in the range of input voltages, and configured to receive at least one control input;
an output transformer configured to receive the converter output and to provide a third ac signal having a current suitable for welding, cutting or heating;
an output circuit configured to receive the third ac signal and to provide a welding signal; and
a controller, including a power factor correction circuit, configured to provide at least one control signal to the converter.
