| 1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:
creating a graphical program, wherein the graphical program comprises a plurality of connected nodes which visually indicates
functionality of the graphical program, wherein the graphical program comprises at least one node that specifies a communication
packet;
converting the graphical program into a hardware description;
deploying the hardware description to a target programmable hardware element;
executing the target programmable hardware element, wherein said executing comprises transferring the communication packet
from the target programmable hardware element to first circuitry, wherein the communication packet is useable by the first
circuitry to perform an operation, wherein the first circuitry comprises peripheral interface circuitry;
the peripheral interface circuitry translating at least part of the transferred communication packet into a command; and
transferring the command to one or more peripheral chips.
