| 1. A method for localization of a mobile terminal communicating using ultra-wide band signals, comprising:
receiving signals transmitted between the mobile terminal and a plurality of fixed terminals;
for each received signal, using a statistical metric based on delays and amplitudes of one or more multipath components, determining
a likelihood that the received signal traveled a line-of-sight path; and
determining the position of the mobile terminal based on times-of-arrival of the received signals using a localization algorithm
based in part on the likelihoods of line-of-sight path for the received signals.
