1. A method of signal distribution within a satellite reception installation, the method comprising:
receiving a satellite signal with a receiver for selecting an external signal from among several external signals included in the satellite signal and for preprocessing the external signal selected; operating in a plurality of processing units in a Satellite Intermediate Band (SIB) as part of a UHF frequency band; receiving the external signal at an input to a distribution subsystem with a switching matrix, wherein each of the processing units is linked to the distribution subsystem via a wire link, and wherein the distribution system includes an advanced input/output port, wherein an output of the advanced input/output port transmits the external signal to at least a first processing unit, selected from the plurality of processing units, and wherein an input of the advanced input/output port is adapted to receive an internal signal transmitted from the first processing unit with a frequency lying in the SIB and to provide a selectable path for the internal signal through the switching matrix of the distribution subsystem to at least a second processing unit, selected from the plurality of processing units, thereby providing the selectable path between the first processing unit and the second processing unit for distribution of the internal signal.
