| 1. An apparatus, comprising
a wireless communications device to:
determine a threshold value for a probability of an error occurring in particular data segments of a transmission;
determine a length of the transmission such that the probability of the error occurring in the particular data segments within
the determined length is no greater than the threshold value; and
transmit the transmission with the determined length;
wherein the probability of error is based on bit error rate.
