a base assembly comprising a base and a table supported by the base, the table having a perimeter and a support plane;
a saw assembly disposed underneath the table, the saw assembly comprising a blade with a top portion extending above the table;
a groove disposed in the table, the groove being substantially parallel to the blade;
a miter gauge slidably disposed in the groove, and
a lock disposed in the table adjacent to the groove for locking the miter gauge disposed in the groove, the lock not moving
with the miter gauge when the miter gauge is moved along the groove, and
a knob connected to the lock, the knob being disposed below the support plane and at least partly disposed outside of the
perimeter of the table and positioned laterally of said groove,
a spring biasing said lock towards the unlocked position, wherein actuation of the knob will press the lock against the miter
