| 1. A method of detecting fault conditions related to an output current from a power driver, comprising:
alternately activating and deactivating an output switching device of the power driver to provide the output current;
generating a voltage signal at a gate terminal of the output switching device during a portion of a time period when the output
switching device is activated, wherein the voltage signal represents the output current; and
monitoring the voltage signal for load fault conditions.
