1. A cigarette filter, comprising a filter medium containing
an inorganic basic substance selected from the group consisting of sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate and ammonium bicarbonate, sodium phosphate, potassium phosphate, disodium hydrogenphosphate, dipotassium hydrogenphosphate, sodium dihydrogenphosphate, potassium dihydrogenphosphate, and ammonium dihydrogenphosphate, and
a moisturizing agent consisting of sodium propionate,
wherein the inorganic basic substance is contained in an amount of 3.5 mg and 10.5 mg, and
wherein a ratio of the inorganic basic substance to the moisturizing agent falls within a range of between 1:1 and 1:2.
