PTAB Inventor Hour webinar - Episode 6

Are you an inventor and new to Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB or Board) proceedings? Join us on Thursday, March 24, at noon ET, to learn more about all aspects of ex parte appeals, America Invents Act (AIA) proceedings, and PTAB operations.

Each Inventor Hour webinar covers the basics of ex parte appeals and AIA proceedings. Sessions feature useful and interesting information, such as practice tips and inventor case studies. Each webinar introduces an administrative patent judge or a PTAB staff member, so you can learn more about the Board's decision-makers and those working behind the scenes. In short, Inventor Hour webinars offer something for everyone.

Episode 6 will cover these topics:

  • Meet a Board Operations member: A conversation with Chief Clerk Erica Swift to discuss her role at the Board
  • Patent Pro Bono Program: An overview of the Patent Pro Bono Program, which assists eligible inventors in finding registered practitioners to prepare and file patent applications
  • Trial byte: An overview of the consolidated trial practice guide, which provides the roadmap for success in AIA proceedings
  • Inventor case study: A look at an ex parte appeal where evidence of unexpected results in a declaration led to a favorable Board decision

Join us for this enriching webinar series to gain a better understanding of the PTAB. You can send questions before or during the webinar to PTABInventorHour@uspto.gov.

The event is free and open to all. Captioning service will be provided.
